What is a pre-order?

For debut, self-published authors preorders are EVERYTHING! All pre-orders count to the first week of sales and whilst it’s extremely difficult for independent authors to be stocked in mainstream bookstores when the first week of sales are high enough- publishers and booksellers pay attention! The higher the preorder numbers, the more likely you will see Adena and her Star in the bookshop closest to you (and Chantal Leonhardt can write and illustrate your next favourite book too).
Tariffs and Duties

USA

Picture books shipped to the US are duty-free as they are classified as children’s books under the HTS 490. However, a customs processing free of Aud $1.69 is included in final shipping costs. Other fees may be charged and collected by your local customs office upon arrival to your country depending on local policies & legislation.

We do not collect & pay duties, customs or tariffs on our website. Other fees may be charged and collected by your local customs office upon arrival to your country depending on local policies & legislation.

When will my pre-order ship?

Pre-orders are scheduled to be shipped between end of October and end of November 2026: an exact publish date will be posted early September. Pre-orders will be the first the ship when the books arrive! This timeline is based on estimated logistics and may be pushed 2-4 weeks in the future.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on order weight, size and shipping location.
Printing Statement

Adena and her Star is printed on FSC-certified paper ensuring paper comes from responsibly managed forests. It also uses soy-based inks, which are safer for the environment and healthier for kids.
Returns and Exchanges

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns due to the nature of the product being a limited edition. However, if your picture book is damaged in transit, or in the very unlikely event that it arrives with a defect, we will replace it without a worry. Please send us a photo of the damage in the first 72 hrs of arrival.
